The annual report was as follows :— Your Committee have pleasure in submitting their annual report to the members of the Society. The Society has suffered last year from lack of outside support, but has been in all other respects fairly successful. The annual statement of accounts shows a balance of receipts over an expenditure of L 124 ls 7d, viz.:— - - Receipts ... ... £409 10 0 Expenditure... ... 285 .8 .5 Balance ... £124 1 7 ' On comparing the amount of subscriptions and donations for 1875-6 with the amounts of the present year, we find that there was a difference of L 75. The Committee did not sue ceed in letting the booth at the show. Last year the amount _ received for that was L2O. However, the Society has been successful in its own sphere, and although the expenditure has been pretty heavy, it has been laid out so that in future years we will have the articles necessary for carrying out bur shows, without having the uncertain course still of borrowing almost everything. • '• •;■•■• Mr Pram's term: of; office as President'has now expired, and; according to tbe usual practice, the Committee beg to.recommend that Mr Samuel Young . (Vice-President) be elected President, so that Mr James Cullen be elected Vice President for the current year.. The following members of Committee retire by rotation :—John Koberts, M.P.C., Walter Grieve, John Sheenan, H. Richard, A. Kempshell. We recommend that Mr Pram, late President, be elected in place of Mr Charles Findlay, an old and energetic member of the Society, whose death occurred during the past year. ' The report was adopted.
