Fat Sheep. —The large'supply o! 3600 came forward this week, and the demand not being particularly brisk, prices receded about ;is per head. We sold, on account of the Henley Company, Messrs John: Reid, Elderslie, E. W. Humphrey, Garthmyl, Tarnbull, Wilson, and Oxley, 126 i cross-bredi and merino 3at from 7s 6d to 10a 6d for the former and 5s 6d to 6s for the latter—equal to 2d per lb for prime, and a shade 1°.3) for ordinary quality. Wo also turned out. 690, which will come forward for next week's market."- ■

Fat Lambs.—Only a few were penned, which realised from 7s 6d to 11s each.

Store Cattle.—No transactions of any moment have transpired during the week, but sundry small lots have changed hands at satisfactory prices. We note & good demand lor well-conditioned grown cattle for winter fattening.

Store Sheep.—The demand for young1 sheep continues active, but as few or none of thea? are in the market the better descriptions of aged sheep have been more freely enquired for, and for these we quote prices a' shade higher. .During the week we have placed 2000 merino ewes and wethcra, aged, at from 23 tois. ~. ..

■ Country Sales.—On Friday, 20th, we held a clearing BaleatHuntlyFarm, Outram.on account of Mrs Borrie. There \ras an unusually large attendance, but bidding was not by any means spirited at the outset, improving, however, towards the close, and Btock, crop, implements, &c., offered were all disposed of at falily satisfactory, prices. . 60 head cittie sold—cows, at £815s to £17; yourjg cattle, £2 15s for calves up to £6 ss; 10 horses, at £20 to £51 each; 300 half-bred sheep, at 7s 6d to 11s 3d; and Bundries. We would direct attention to our sale of fat and store cattle at Balclutha on Ist May; also to a very important clearing sale at Ko»u Bank, Inch Clutha, on 4th May, on account of Mrs Bowler's trustees; ■ ••;

/Wool.-Catalogues of tho first few days of the February-March tales are to hand, and fully confirm the reports per cablegram as te the decline in prices, which are quite 2d per lb under the rates ruling in November : last. In ibis market there has been uo business done. On Monday, 30th inst., we shall offer about 40 bales odd lots. .

Sheepskins, Hides, and Tallow.—Monday last being a holiday, our usual sale was not held. We shall offev a large quantity on Monday next,. .

Grain.—Wheat meets with better demand, and prices may now be quoted up to 5s 3d for very prime quality, ordinary at 4s 9d to ss, fowls' feed 3a 6d to 4s. Barley of best malting quality ia enquired for, and may be quoted at 4a 6d to 6a. Only inferior qualities, however, are offering, and dull of sale at, nominally, 3s to 48. Oats are in request, both for local wants and for shipment, but holders having confidence in the future of the market, seem disinclined to sell at the rates offering, and which we quote at 2s 2d to 2a 4d for ordinary to fine feed, and 2s 5d to 2s 6d for superior milling:. •
