(Before I. N. Watt, Esq., R.M., Judge.)

NORTH-EAST VALLEY.

He tho assessmenc of the Port Chalmers Water Works, ■Mr Adams appeared for the objectors. The reservoir and part of the Water Works are within the North-East Valley district, and have been rated at L 640. The objectors claim that the Water Works have been valued in excess to the amount of L 340. The hearing of this case occupied an hour and a half. Messrs Blair, Laing, and M'Fadyen were the-witnesses. Judgment was reserved, and will be given,on a day to be appointed by the Judge in Dunedin, by consent. There were three cases in which the assessment was slightly reduced, and 10 objections were disallowed owing to the non-appearance of the parties;
