VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

MOKTHLT BATTALION PAKADE. The monthly Battalion. Parade was held in the Headquarters', Drill Shed last night. The following companies'were represented:—Dunedin Artillery: One captain, one lieutenant, four ' sergeants, and 14 rank and file. City Guards: One lieutenant, one sub-lieutenant, three sergeants, one bugler, and 38 rank and file. North Dunedin Rifles:" One sublieut., thr«e sergeants, and 19 rank and file-' Wakari Rifles : One lieutenant, one sub-lieutenant, two sergeants, and 20 rank and file. Green ■Island Rifles : One captain, one lieutenant, one sub-lieutenant, and eight rank and file. Dunedin Naval Brigade: One captain, one lieut., one sub-lieutenant, five. sergeauts, and 26 rank and file. City Guards Cadets: One captain, one lieutenant, two sergeants^ and 25 rank and file. City Guards Band: One bandmaster, one sergeant, and 14 rank and ■ file. Artillery Band: One assistant bandmaster, one sergeant, andl6rar.k and file. Major Stavely was in command. • : CADET PRIZE FIRING. The City Guards Cadets fired yesterday morning at 5 o'clock^ the ranges being 100, 200, and 300 yards, with seven shots at each range. The following were the results :— •

Tho firing at 300 yards of the Normal, District, and High Schools was completed to-doy, and resulted as follows :— High School.—Sergeant Burn, 8; Corporal Milne,7; Bombard. Calder, 8; G-unner-3 Allen J, 9; Burn D, 5; Allen W, 11. Normal School.—Sergeant Nicoll, 7 ; Sergt. Fitzgerald J, 2 ; Sergeant Robertshaw, 4 ; Cadets Heaney, 5; Eadie, 7} Montgomery, 3; Hawkes, 5. . ■ District School.—Cadets Wilson, 5 ; Reid, 2; M'G-regor, 5; Dempster, 8.
