RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Alexander Pindlaterv. Edward Kingcombe.— Claim of L 3 16s, money received by the defendant to the use of the plaintiff, as his agent, under and by virtue of a distress for rent. Mr E. Cook appeared for the plaintiff, for whom judgment was given, with costs. Thomas Thomas v. James Patterson.—This was an adjourned case, in which the plaintiff claimed L4l Bs, balance of account for work done in carving a monument. Judgment v.-as reserved. (Before T. A. Mansford, Esq., R.M.) Matthew Dixon v. Henry Houghton and Co.—Claim of L 7 17s 6d. Judgment was reserved. Thomas Hutchinson v. John Mouat.— Thia was a judgment summons for L 4 11s 9d. The deieadant was ordered to pay the amount in instalments of L 2 per month; in default, 14 days' imprisonment. Thomas Hutchinson v. John Jelly.—Judgment summons for Lll 18s. The defendant was ordered to pay the amount in instalments of 5s per week; in default, two months' imprisonment. Thomas Heffernan v. John Brooker.—Judgment summons for L 319» 7d. The defendant was ordered to pay LI to plaintiff on the 3rd January, 1877, and the balance in instalments of 10s per month; in default, one month's imprisonment. Judgment went for the plaintiffs, with costs, in the following cases: —J. D. Lawrence v. William Robson, LI 5s 9d; A. R. Hay v. Joshua Gallighan, L 9 17s 7d; Same v. Thomas Breuchley, L4 & Gd; Edward M'Connell v. William Roberts, LI 10s 3d ; Hyam Metz v. W. S. Burton, lls; R. Cowan and Co. v. Robert Rennie, L3 3s Sd.
