Prices showed a considerable decline on last weuk's rates. Best bullocks brought from £lv to £12 10s each; do cows, £0 to £13 for primo heavy weights, or equal to 27s 6d per 1001b. At tho Yards and privately we have sold O) head. , Fat fchcep.—Thoro was also an over-supply of 3000 forwarded, of which 2000 were sold lo the trado at 9s (id to 12s Cd for cross-breds, and 73 Cd to 9s 6d for merinos, or equal to 2id to 21d per lb for best mut- . ton At tho Yards we sold 700. Storo Cattle—Tiiero is a good demand for wellgrown bullocks and cw*, at late quotations. Store Sheep.—During the week we have sold 3600 of various descriptions, at the following prices :— Cross-breds, i and 6-tooth, at from 0s to !).- 0i ; do, 2-tooth, 7s Cd to 7s fid ; do lambs, 6s to 7s; merino wethers, 2,- 4, and C-tooth, 5s 6d to Cs; do fullmouthed, 33 to 8s Gd; merino ewes, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, Gs.to Cs Od; do, full-mouthed, 2s Od to 3s. Wool.—We have advice of tho opening of tho second series of London wool sales. First day's sale, 8000 biles offered; competition brisk, but prices ulightly lower. We sold a email catalogue of wool thia afternoon, for which we had good competition, prices being fully eqml to late ruliug' rates. Average to gooj greasy fleoco, 8d to 9d perib. Sheepskins were in more active demand, more ospecinlly butchors' slum sliins—morinos selling, 13d to 18d; cross-breda, 22d each. Hidos sold at a slight advance on last week's rates. Medium salted, 18i to 10s ; groen butchers', 20s to 21s; calfskins, from 2s to 5s Sd. . Tallow.—We sold Reveral lots of country rendered. Inferior, 21s to 235; fair, 25s to 28s. Grain.—Wheat continues 'eery firm at 4s 6d to 4s 7d for good milling, to 4s 3d to 4s 5d for medium samples. We have placed 1200 bags at the«e figures, and have enquiry foi shipping parcels. Oats are at the present moment in brisk sale at Is 9d to Is lOd per bushel for. good feed, up to 2s for milling. Whereas all our outlets for shipping are very much depressed by the large supplios coming to hand, Melbourne advicos are very discouraging for shipping, there being only a freight and that a small one, botween the two markets. Tho statistics of Otago baing now published, as well as Canterbury, 7 millions of bushels of oats arc represented as tho growth .of two Provinces.: With such facts before us, we cannot expect present rates to continue after deliveries commence. Barley.— Maltsters are buying cautiously, whilst holders of bright samples are firm, 4s Gd to 6s; inferior neglected^ ■ ■ '■ ■ .
