CORPORAL WILLOCKS'S SCORING.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sic—l see in your issue of 12th January, under the head of " Extraordinary Shooting," that Corporal Willocks made 36 consecutive bull's-eyes at 200 yards. I have since had an opportunity of questioning him on the subject, and find_ that the statement i» totally without foundation. He does not remember having ever fired 36 consecutive shots at 200 yards in his life; though I have several times seen him make seven bull's-eyes consecutively at that distance—seven being the number of shots usually fired by us at each range while practising. We are entirely at »loss to know from whom you could have received such erroneous information as that which I now write to contradict. I fear it show s a disposition on the part of some one to be facetious at the expense of the highest scorer in the late competition.— I am, &c,
W. S. PIILANS, Capt. N. 1 Ce., Clutha Rifles.
