Mr -Musky has been eii^ayud in a personal canvass ot the district, for mouths. The general feeling was that the whole district would be virtually unanimous for Thomson, except Baklutha and Inch Clutha, which were expected to be about equally divided. Moitay and friends canvassed very industriously all '<lay, ami hod various vehicles to bring electors to poll. Thomson and his friends being confident of success, took no action, and not a siuylo elector was asked on his behalf. Thy returns are Thomson. Mosley, Bale! nth a 57 ... 50 Warcpa 30 ... 1 Clinton 20 ... 1 Inch Clutha "> ... 2* Totals 121 ... .75 The returns from Kaihikii, .South Clutha, Port Molyneux, and Catlin'n River are yet to come in, and are expected to increase Thomson's majority to two to one. The official declaration of the poll taken place on Monday.
