(from our own correspondent.) Melbourne, October 14th. The Berry Ministry, after a reign of 6ff days, has fallen, and Sir James M'Culloch. finds himself for the third time master o£ the situation. As yet, nothing has been. decided, but equally, of course, there are numerous aspirants for office. One hon. member, very well known in the colony as more especially connected with civic affairs* is stated to have required from Sir Jamesv before the last division, a written promise of a certain ministerial office, which he. however, did not get, but still after voting for Casey's amendment, voted. '.. for M'Culloch's amendment. Ihere arc various rumours afloat, and the names o£ M'Culloch, Kerferd, G. P. Smith, M'Pherson, Gillies, M'Lellan, Purvis, and Madder* are most likely to come to the fore when the new Minisfry is formed. There are all sorts of rumours of opposition at elections, and something terrible which the late Ministry have in store. Of course the Governor has been vilified in certain quartern, accused o£ partizanship, and what not, but a little time is likely to smooth everything over. Mrs Goodenough, the widow of the lateCommodore, left for England yesterday per Durham. The Church Assembly has passed a Bill through its principal stages providing that the election of a Bishop shall be placed ia the hands of a Board of electors composed of six laymen and six clergymen chosen by the Assembly. At the meeting of the Cangrega^oal Union the Key. T. F. Bird has given notice of a vote of sympathy with the Rev.
