CITY POLICE COURT.

Mokday, sth July. (Before V. Pyko and J. A. Mollison, Esq.'s, Drunkenness.—Arthur Scott, George Wilkinson, James Crawford, and Ed. Alexander were each lined 5s for drunkenness, and Hy. NVusiriyth forfeited his bail. Onsc'KNE Lang f ace-—* red. Hopcraft, carpenter, was charged with using obscene language at 4 o'clock on S\in«say morning in George street.—Constable O'Brien stated that he met defendant and three other men, and _on witness asking whether he liad been fighting defendant used the language complained of.— Mr Aldridge, instructed by Mr Haras, submitted that the language was not obscene. It was not heard within the hearing of persons passing by.—The Bench, with great regret, dismissed the case.
