SUNDAY SCHOOL TREATS.
The yearly treats to children of various Sunday schools, which were to have taken place in pretty spots in the suburbs, had, on aeccmut of the rain on Saturday, to be either postponed or held in buikliuga.
St Paul's Sunday School treat was held on Saturday in the Drill Shed (in consequence of the inclemency of the weather) and was a great success. There was a good band, a Punch-and-Judy show, and various games for the amusement of the young people. Mr Savage, of the Paragon Restaurant, provided the refreshments, and it was the opinion of one and all that on no previous occasion had they been so gpofL Three hundred were present. The teachers are to hare a picnic at St Leonards to-day. The children of St. Andrew's Church Sunday sohool, who were to have had their picnic on Saturday in the grounds of Mrs Kettle's residence, had a treat in the hall under the church. Had the weather been fine it was expected that 400 would have been present, but, as it was, fully 250 put in an appearance. They were regaled with a plentiful supply of good things, the big room was cleared for them to play in, swings were fitted up, and indoor games gone into with zest, and they enjoyed themselves exceedingly. The treat to the children of Knox Church Sunday school was postponed, to a fytuye. day,
