THE NEW-ZEALAND DISTILLERY COMPANY
having entered into an Agreement with thu i Government of New Zealand to abandon the business of Distillation o:i the 30th Jimo, 1875, are now. prepared to offer to tho public their Premises and, Plant, for the purpose of establishing a Brewery and carrying on their present large. Mattingl Business (for-which they are admirably adapted), on terms which it will be admitted, on consideration of the following particulars, ■ are of the most advantageous character, viz. :—
The! Freehold property comprises twoijiill,.acres of land, in a block having frontages to Cumberland and Castle streets.
The Buildings, built of brick and stone, with slated roofs, are of a in.oe.t substantial character.,,,•
Plant (the greater portion of which is suitable for.a Brewery and Malting Establishment) is complete and perfect in every, respect—the only addition required for a Brewery,.beinp a Cellar, which, oan be erected for about £2000. ■ With.this and some.trifiing.alterations,. the Plant will, be available ,for Brewing, purposes within a month or six-weeks from -,the<datg : -at whichj the D stillery Company are. required,by:law to cease, operations.,.„ .
Halt Floors and Kilns.—There are on the, property two Malt Floors and Kilns capableof turpjngout from, 1000 to 1200 busliels.of malt per week; and|.from,,the advantageous position of the work, having;* frontage, to the Bay, ami, receiving the benefit of the-cool draughts of air which, continually proceed, .therefrom, Malting can be carried, on all the year round, which is an exceptional thing, even ,111 ; the Old, Country. The -.Malt from this establishment,, has always commanded the highest price of any produced in New Zealand ;.and the supply for, sonw time.bick has been inadequate to the demand., The Beer produced from. the. Malt is of the very, best quality. The profits from this branch.of the businc..-s..'may be.ex-( pected to be of a,.very substantial character, as during the past year f .pyen with the limited.amfiiuit,of. Malti available for sale.,, they preceded £2500.,,; And asthere^ would be a large quantity to dispose of in connection with a Brewery,,the-.yearly profits would, be.pr.oportionately increased.
The capabilities of the Premises.and P.lant for the purpose of a Brewpry have been.carefully, examined and estimated by a competent authority (a gentleman who built some of the largest JBrewepesjiu-.thc.noigh-bourhood of Edinbui-gh), who states that frpm._-4QO to 500 hogsheads of be fliade per^vveijc^ when the trade required ,it, which is greatly in excess .of the quantity which can be turoed.6ut.byi,any other Brewery in Now Zealand. This, capability-$q pro-, duce so much more Beer at very little extra', cost of management miist always give. thesAlbipn Brewery-. Company _ great advantage over the;,othcr,.Biewing. EstablishraieuUs, and as the .trade is increasuig. greatly, here, and being opened up. with 'the neighbouring Colony oS New South Wales and-Fiii-j no doubt the full power of the Company's Workswoujd'yery shortlybe called into operation.
Water Supply.—The Distillery Company,, at eon-, siderablo expense, constructed a.'covered Brick and Cement Jteservoir on j[ r Logan'a propor.ty,next the.
