THE VOLUNTEERS.
The Cup match of the No. 1 Company, City Guards, was fired, at the Anderson's B)y range on Saturday. A strong wind was blowing at the time. - The Cup is fired for three times a year, and has to be won three times—twice in succession—before it becomes the property of the winner. It has now been won five times—by Vol. Nighingale twice (but not in succession), Captain Wales once, Lieutenant Douglas once, and this time by Sergeant Treseder. There were 26 competitors, and prizes for the eight highest scorers. The ranges were 200, 500, and 600 yards; seven shots at each, and Wimbledon targets.
