London, August 15th. The money market is easier. The Bank of England reserve is stronger. Heavy rains interrupt harvesting. Bazaine has arrived at Cologne. Arrived.—Glenlora, from New Zealand ; Lady Jocelyn, from Melbourne; Gowan, Jung Frau, and Star of the North.

August 18th. The London colonial wool sales opened this evening. The. ar avals amounted to 260,000 bales, and upwards of 5000 were offered. The attendance of home and foreign buyers was large, and biddings commenced with .great spirit, and closing rates of last sales 'well maintained.

August 25th. Austria recognises the Spanish Government, but Russia refuses co do so.

At the wool sales, the competition continues extremely vigorous, and prices show -a general advance, compared with previous 43a1e3, of a halfpenuy to a penny halfpenny. Foreign arrivals of wheat are abundant, ,and prices have fallen. Afc the sales of new wheat yesterday, purchases were made reluctantly, at a, reduction of seven shillings.

Singapore, August 20fch. A rupture i 3 threatened between China -and Japan on account of the Formosa expedition. China is making immense preparations for war.
