Maclean report, for the week ending 3rd September, as follows :— Fat Cattle.—There was a full supply of 140 head at the weekly market on Wednesday, which were all taken by the'_tnu!e. . The quality was only medium, I there only, being one or two.pens'of prime beef, which were actively competed for. ; Our sales consisted of 57 head on account of Messrs Wallace, Grant, and others, which realised from £9 to £14 7k 6d for bullocks, and from £8 to £12 10s for cows. We have also sold 20 head privately during the week at full market rates.' We quote prime beef 30a to 32s 6d per 100 lbs; medium and inferior, 20s to 255. , Fat Sheep.—The market was again largely supplied, about' 1800 of all sorts being penned, only, half of which number found purchasers, the balance being held over until next, week; those sold realised, for cross-breds, from ltis to 23s ; merinos, 13 to. 14s. Our tales consisted of 150 cross-breds, at quotations. We have also sold several lots privately, at full market rates. We quote prime quality cross-bred mutton, 4d to 4Jd per lb ; do merino, 3Jd to 3Jd. Fat Calves.—About 25 were forward, which we
taken by the trade at from 22s to 60s each, according to quality.
Store Cattle.—There is a good demand arising for this description of stock, witli few offering. Wo quote well-grown and bred bullocks, £4 10s to .£!>; cows, £2 \oi to £3 10s ; mixed herds, 40s to 60s. according to breeding and condition. We have sold 60 bullocks at Ho per.head, and a team of working bullocks, bare, at £0 per head.
Store Sheep.—No transactions to report.
Wool and Sheepskins.—At our weekly sale on Tuesday last there was a good attendance of buyers, and all the lots submitted were sold at full market races. We sold several odd bales of. wool, and v large number of sheepskins. Butcher's half-bred skins realising from 5s to 5s 9d each ; merinos, 4s to 4s Ud each ; dry station skins, from 3s to 5s Oil according to weight.'
Hides.—We have duirv.: the wcck'sold privately and at auction ISO hides at from 17s to 20s for medium weight*: heavy weights, from 20s to 2'.).5; also several parcels of calves' skins, at from 3s to 3s Cd each. Grain —There lias been very little doing in grain of all sorts for the last week or two. Quotations remain unaltered. Prime samples wheat, 4s Gil to -Is Od ; medium, is to 4s 3d. Malting samples barley, 5s to , r >s 3d; medium, 4s to 4s 6d. Milling samples oats -is Ud to 4s Ud; good feed, 4s Cd. We have during the week sold :i'2O sacks wheat at quotations, also 70 sacks potatoes at £G 15s per ton.
