London, June 30th. Wool.—Charles Balme and Co. report the short interval which elapsed since the close •of the public sales has been characterised by daily enquiry for one description or another •of our staple, and though the quantity actually bold is an unimportant feature, it is interesting as showing a disposition on the .part of consumers to make further purchases .at rates recently current, and as indicating that notwithstanding the unprecedented heavy strikes so recently, manufacturers are not overstocked with raw material.
New Zealand Hemp.—Market inanimate, .About the only business passing being in the 1 damaged portion of a late arrival, which not being likely to improve.in its present condition, holders aell to the best bidder. The following are some of the lots disposed of at the public sales :— Ex William Davie— :Sound, EE, £18 15s; FE, £16; Douglas, iLC in diamond, £17 10s to £17 153 ; Punjaub, sound, £17. Ex Celosna—R &G in diamond, A at side, £25 10a ; 6 at side, £20 15s ; A at side, sound and good, £22 ss; sound, 6at side, £20 os; tow, £10 10s ;6 at side, £20 15s; A at side, sound and good, £22 os : sound, 6 at side, £20 os ; tow, £10 iOs; sound, W& C, £17 10s. Ex Lady ■Jocelyn—Sound, J C over L on heart, £14. Ex the Ben Nevis—Sound, B, W, £18103. Ex Celestial Queen—Sound, J A, £20; JW, £18. Hides.—There is little doing in hides. The only transactions 127 salted Australian iorses, at 5s each. Tallow, £14 10s. Flour, extra, sdol. 25c. to sdol. 75c ; superfine, 4dol. 50c, in sacks of 1961b5. Wheat, Idol. 57^c. to Idol. 70c.; Liverpool quotations, £11 10s to £12 4s. Barley, brewing, Idol. 15c. to Idol. 70c. #.c Boston wool reports show large stocks, a good demand; sales of best fleeces, 50c. to 60c.
