m , _. Wellington, July Ist. •■: The City of Adelaide left at 2 p.m. for" Lyttelton, and ought to arrive there to-mor-row morning, and reach Port Chalmers on Friday morning. She will leave Port Chalmers on her retnrn voyage, carrying the homeward San Francisco mails, on Friday afternoon, reaching Lyttelton on Saturday morning, and without delay Bail for Wellington, where she should} arrive early on Sunday. She will proceed to Napier -without delay, arriving there on Monday, and at once leave for Auckland, which should be reached on Wednesday, the Btb. The. City of Adelaide will leave Auckland for Kandavu late on the Bfch, with the San Francisco mails, and will be thus two days late. . Ske is expected to connect with the Macgregor at Kandavu, which, it is believed, will proceed through to San Francisco. ' \

Christchurch, July Ist. : In the Provincial Council last night, Mr Maskell's motion that Sunday trains be run oh the country liaes of railway was negatived by 19 to 12. The opinion expressed was that no necessity exists for Sun. day trains, except between Christchurch and Lyfctelton.
The Provincial Council passed a resolution last night, requesting the General Government to erect more Immigration Barracks. ;
Lyttelto^i, July Ist. ■ The Apelles has sailed for Melbourne with 2000 sacks of wheat, 2000 of oats, and 2480 of barley. [
