TENDERS are Invited by the Colonial Government for Conveying Bridge Materials from the ship Warwick, at Port Chalmers, to the site of the proposed bridge at the Waitaki River. TENDERS wiU be received at the General Post Office, AVellington, till the 22nd April next, for the performance of the undermentioned Mail Steam Service:— Between Picton an£ the Manukau, calling Nelson and Taranaki, and back to Picton by the same route once every four weeks. The names, tonnage, and horse-power of the vessels proposed to be employed to be stated, and the vessels to be approved by the Postmaster-General, and to be surveyed by some person appointed by him whenever he may consider it necessary. A Chief Cabin passage, free of cost either for passage or victualling, to be provided, when required, for an officer of the Postal Department. A proper and secure room to be provided for the mails, and all mails to be landed and shipped by, and at the expense of, the Contractor. The days and hours of arrival and departure at and from the various ports, to be fixed by the PostmasterGeneral, who shall also have the power of detaining vessels, if necessary, for forty-eight hours after the days fixed for their, departure from Manukau without charge. For any other detention, the rate of demurrage per hour to be stated. The service to commence at Picton on the 12th May next. TENDERS will be received at this Office until TUESDAY, the 30th day of April, 1872, for DEBENTURES, with coupons attached, to the amount of FIFTEEN THOUSAND POUNDS, to be issued under the authority of Uie " Nelson. City Loan Act, 1871." Each Debenture will be for the Sum Of ONE HUNDRED POUNDS, btariug SIX PER CENT. INTEREST, and will be issued in the form, and subject in all respects to the conditions as to security and payment of interest, provided in the above-mentioned Act. The Debentures will be made Payable in Thirty Years from the date of issue, with interest at the above-mentioned rate, payable half-yearly at this Office. Tenders may be made for one or more Debentures, and must be forwarded under cover, addressed to the Provincial Treasurer,' Nelson, New- Zealand, and marked " Tender for Debentures." Dwight, Bookseller, of 232 Bourke street East, Melbourne. The Stock has beea valued, as per inventory, at £4900, and has long been recognised as the largest and best miscellaneous collection of books in the Australian Colonies. The Business was conducted by the late proprietor for upwards of sixteen years with marked- success, and is capable of being eonsidtrably extended. None but principals will be treated witli, and no Tender will be received unless accompanied by a deposit of £100. If desired, a Lease of the Business Premises will be granted, subject to. an existing life lease. The stock, inventory, and conditions can be inspected at all reasonable hours on the premises.
