KAIKORAI SCHOOL.

The annual examination of this school took place on Tuesday, the 19th, in. presence of members of the School Committee, parents, and friends of the pupils. The examination was conducted by Met Maeklin, the teacher, assisted by Messxa M'Leod and Milne (North Dunedin. School), Mr George Hepburn, and members of the School Committee. The pupils were subjected to a strict ar.d searching examination in the different branches, and displayed a thorough and competent knowledge — geography and grammar being worthy of special: notice. In the industrial department, undeir Mrs Maeklin, a variety of useful and ornamental needlework was exhibited. A large number of the parents and friends of the pupils assembled in the schoolroom on Wednesday evening, to witness the distribution of prizes, ami. this excited more interest, as they were awarded as the result of competition oa the examination day. The prizes were distributed by. Mir Lister, the Secretary to the School Com.mittee. The number of pupils on the roll forlast quarter was 55 boys and 48 girls ; total, 103. Prize List. HISTORY GLASS.
