THE ELECTIONS.
The election of members of the Provincial Coancil has> been going on during the whole of the month, and all the districts-have not yet choaen representa*tives. The Dunedin election caused the greatest excitement, there being no less than 20 candidates for the seven seats. The result of a sharp contest was the return of Messrs Reynolds, Cargill, Turnbull, Bathgate, G. E. Barton, Outten, and Duncan.
