( The Annual Show of the Timnru ~ Agricultural and Pastoral Society took , p iiwto-day, and was numerously at ended y visitors, from Otago and other parts of Canterbury. The weather was wet last , msrht, but cleared up tins morning. ( The Judges of merino sheep were Messrs Peters (Ashburton), Hurst, and . James Macdonakl. They had to begin • their duties yesterday at noon, on account of the largo number of entries. The principal exhibitors were Messrs Campbell and Low (Mr Rich's We fluck), Mr W. A. Tolmie, Messrs Studholme Bros., Mr El orthy, and the Otago and Canterbury Association, Levels. The merinoes were truly magnificent, and were pronounced on all hands to be the finest collection ever brought together in New Zealand. In many cases, however, the effects of the wet winter were visible. The num' er of entries in merinoes was 123, against 107 last year.
