DRUNKENNESS AND DISORDERLY CONDUCT.

George Murphy and Elizabeth Gear, charged with, this offence, were discharged. Archibald Wilkinson, John Mitchell, and John Smith alias Luhning, had their bail forfeited for non-appearance. John Bates was fined 10a, or, in default, 24 hours' imprisonment ; and Matthew Dearing, 20s, with the alternative of going to gaol for 7 days. Mary Ann Hall and Aim Gadsby were each fined 20s, or, in default, 48 hours' imprisonment. KEEPING A DISORDERLY HOUSE. Edward Still was brought before the Court on this charge. It appeared that the prisoner, who was described as an "incorrigible old hand, 3' pretended to : carry on the trade of a boot-maker in his house in Stafford street, but in reality it was the resort of prostitutes of the lowest order, and that in another house formerly kept by the prisoner two notorious housebreakers had bean arrested. Ec was sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour. FREQUENTING A DISORDERLY HOUSE;/ . Matilda Hancock was charged with frequenting a disorderly house occupied by the prisoner Still. There were 17 or 18 previous convictions against her. for disorderly conduct. She was fined L 5, or in default to go to gaol for 21 days. William Jefferson was charged with ;a similar offence. It appeared that when Still and Hancock were arrested, the prisoner, who had been in Still's house, came out, and at their suggestion collected a mob, whom he incited to rush the constables, and rescue the prisoners. He was fined 40s, with the alternative of a week's imprisonment.
