(ritOM OUR OWN OOBRESrOKDESTS.) Wellington, April 30th. Colonel Lyon haa sent out several scouting expeditions in various directions without being able to discover any trace of tho enemy. A few of Tito Kowaru's detached followers aro said to havo returned toOhaia. Tho sick men in the hospital at Patea aro recovering rapidly. A Ngatiporou constable haa been accidently ahot dead by ono of his comrades. Colonel M'Donnell is publishing at Wanganui, by subscription, a vindication of his conduct while in tho chief command on the Weat Coaat.

Napier April 30th. Tho Ahuriri has returned from Wairoa. Mr Richmond's troops have arrived at Potane, and Capt. Newland'a from Poverty Bay—in all, 208 constabulary. Tho expedition is wa:ting the return of tho St. Kilda, which ia gono to seek the co-opera-tion of the Ngatiporou. It ia expected, however, that it will Btart on Monday or Tuesday, under the command of Lieut. - Colonel Herrick. On Wednesday last, three settlers' houses wero burnt at Turioroa, four miloa from Wairoa. #■
