MORE SOLAR SPOTS.
To the Etlilor ofthe Otaro Daily Tisrrx.
Sir—l regret to have to re'er to a painful topic ; but in Dimple justice to those who c innut vindicate thcmselvt s, I must attract the attention of the public, through your columns, to the shameful referenco which the Daily Sun makes to ono of those gentlemen who were drowned through tho accid-nt off Black Jack's I'oint yesterday. "Mr Pidwell," tho Daily Sun says, "was aa assistant dcntUt." Mr I'idwell, poor fellow, was a gentleman possessed of considerable m-'ans, part of which he had invested here, and a greater part on the Waimea Plains in Southland, and, doubtless, never hoard o£ Mr Boot.
It is true, the Fditor of tho Fun says, "wo believe Mr Pittwcll (as ho calls him) was an assistant ;'' but 1, with many others, tako leave to think that that Kditor's "belief" in anything passes for nothing. 1 am, he, Flora.
