A COMPLAINT.

(To the Editor of the Otago Daily Times.) Sm—Tho state of the road between this township and the toll-gate is simply abominable. It is -really too bad for ooople to pay toll, then plunge into a "lit river, and afterwards through an impasaablo Bea of mud. Of courso, tho Government will lay it all to the flood, bufc I Bhould think thafc plea is about played out by this timo. I saw 14 horses drawing one wagon yesterday; and tho rainy season has scarcely commenced, and yet nothing is done, or, indeed, appears likely to be done, although, I believe, there aro several ways to avoid the worst parts of tho road. Hoping something will be done, I am, &c, A Carries. Waikouaiti, May 26th, 1868.
