CENSUS, 1867.
For the following Census return, and its introductory explanatory letter, we arc indebted to Mr Colin Allan, the Census Enumerator: —
I herewith enclose a Return of the Population of tho Province, according to the subdistricts into which it was divided for Census .purposes. 1 found it imp foible, at present, to compare the JR» turns of 1864 and 1807. on account of the changes that have taken place In the Klect/T^l Districts since the former period, the sub-districts being altered to correspond with su<fh changes. An abstract of th«) population of the Provincial Electoral Districts will be compiled after the other Ileturns w'll have \m-.n completed, and a comparative statement can then be shown.
