According to the formula of Dr. Corvisart, Knight of the Legion of Honor, physician to H.M. the Emperor of the French, Pepsine ia, tho gastric juice itself, or rather the activlf 8"? principle purified, which digests food in the stomach. When, from various causes, the supply of the digestive fluid in too small, the inevitable consequences are bad digestion, gastritis, gastralgio, intlammation of tho mucous coat of the stomach and bowels, heartburn, anccmca, loss of strength, and, in females, general derangement. The Elixir of Pcpsino, which is sanctioned by tho approbation of the Paris Academy of Medicine, Bpeedily cures all such diaoaaua, and prevents vomiting during pregnancy.
