An Irish Notice or Motion.—The following notice of motion extraordinary has appeared in the Parliamentary papers :— "Notice of motion, iVlay 22.—Does Registration Bill (Ireland)—Mr Lon»field to move the following clause:—'Every dog fouud trespassing on unenclosed land unaccompanied by the registered owner oi such dog or other person, who shall on being asked to give his true jvime and address, may be then and there destroyed by such occupier, or by his order.'" Query. Is it intended that the "dog," if he gives his true name'and address shall be destroyed, or is it the "owner or other person" who is to be destroyed for the offence of giving his true name and address ? An exhibition of portrait miniatures, consisting of between 3000 and 4000 specimens of all the great masters from tbe time of Holbein, was opened recently to the public at the South Kensington Museum. The correspondent of a Wiltshire paper states that a hoopoe has just been Rhot near Swanagc, in Dorset; that an osprey has been seen in that neighborhood for several days; and that a pair of peregrine falcons are now breeding on a solitary rock on the Swanage coast. In addition to numerous other treasures at the British Museum, there are a portion of the standard inscription of Asahur-izir-pal, several new Aniphoriski and iEnochose, 550 coins of Ortokite princes, many new pseudomorphs, a specimen of the rare Dulunculus, and some beautiful types of the Pharyngonatbiacs.
