The Gasholder has-been placed in working condition, but the still creator damages done to the Works by the flood, j hx\Q prevented ray Bending Gas into the city, although I have au/abundant tupply of it on the j Work?. ! I have taken the law into my own hands by ' cutting two large channels across the Anderson's Bay fload, by which the water is passing ofi in large quantities, which, I trust, will overcome the difficulty; but I cannot let this opportunity pass without drawing attention to the disgraceful neglect of the authorities in allowing such frightful damage to bo effeetsd, and then to take no steps to remedy the same.
