Manakau on the 18th instant at 2 p.m., and arrived at Turanaki on the l!)th at 'J a.m. ; left ngain prune evening at 5 p.m., find arrived at Nelson on the 20th, having experienced strong S,E. wind with a heavy st-a in crossing the Straits. She left Wellington on the 24th at ■t.iiO p.m.. »nd arrived at Lytteltpn on the 25th at '2.50 p.m., haviig experienced on the j>'.i-Hnj;e from Wellington utrong head winds, | with coniimtoiisrain and thick ha/y weather. Left Lyttelton ea the 2Gth, at 12.10 p.m., having the fine clipper »))ip Glenmark in tow. Tlsis vessel came to an anchor outside the heads, nwuitinif h«-r passenger.-, and would proceed to :ea the first opporiuiiity. She has a I true aid valuable freight of wool, and a few passengers. The Wcl injfton arrived in J'ort Chalmers yesterday morning at 10.15 a.in, haTirig be-en t.ff the Heads tit 7.30, but could not enter on account of the thick w-p.thcr, and lay-to for two hours. The Wellington, on this occasion, has fully proved herself to he a first-class sea boat. We are informed sli« left Wellington exactly two hours after the Otaff", and arrived in this harbor five rninufib before her. We-ware sorne«hat surprised to see such a result, for the Otago was always considered to be flic bent boat in snch a hravy sea as she must have experienced, so at that rate the Wellington mjiy now safely boast of having beaten the Oia'jo.

Busineßs has been but moderately active. Orders have come forward freely from the interior, but a scarcity of cartage partially prevents their execution. An extensive demand f,r Chilian flour for shipment which is just now taking pine.l, will so fir immediately diminish stocks as probably to leave prices comparatively near recent rates.
