Proposed by Mr Gordon, seconded by Mr Brown—"That the amounts collected from the patients are not subscriptions; and tout the collector receive bo per-centage for 6uch monies." —Carried. The Treasnrer (Mr Brown) produced the bank, bwk and other document*, ghowina; a balance to the credit of the institution of L 775 lie 7d. A letter was read from Mr Frosser, druzgiat nt Qiuenstown, stating thnt he had nerer " refused to tender for drugs," as reported in the DaVy Times, but dimply " had not tendered." A letter was read from the Resident Surpreon, recommending that the salary of 1), Cameron, acting House Steward, ba raised to L 3 a-week. After some conversation the Committfe decided upon allowing tbe various parta of the district to nominate candidates for election by the general meeting, as it wrned very dcsirahle for many purposes, that there should be resident members of the Board at every considerable centre of population, in orJer to sign papers of admission for patienU. &c. Treasurer, Mr T. H. Brown; Hon. Secretary, Mr Gordon. The Committee then adjourned to Thursday, ths26th Janawy, at 12 noon. REFUSAL OP THE MIKING lEASB AT THB TWELVE MILK, WAKATIP. In October last, Small and party made application for a, lease of (wo acres for sluicing purposes, at the Twelve Mile, Lake Wakatipu.
