GoTeTiiment Notice, MILITIA NOTICE. i HEREBY calJ upon all persons liable to serve as Militiamen in the districts of Dunedin, Tokomairiio and Clutha, to send in their names to the Militia Office, Dunedin, on or before the Ist October next, in accordance with the following c';ause3 of " Militia Act Amendment Act," 1860. " Clause 2. Each battalion or company shall be divided into three classes; the first class shall consist of all unuiavrieu men and all widowers without children, betweea the ages of 16 years and 40 years, both inclusive, who shall be called Hrst Class Service Men; the second class shall consist of all married men and widowers with children between the same Eges, who shall be called Second Class Service Men: and the third class shall consist of all men between the ag^s of 40 years ai;d 55 years, who shall be called the Reserve Me >." " Clause 6. Be it enscted that every man, except as hereafter excepted, between tte ages ot sixteen }cars and fifty-five sears, bang a British subject, and not an Aboriginal Native, who shall reside within the Colony, shall be liable to serve in the Mm'.ia: Provided that the Judges of the S preme Court, the Executive Council of the Colony, Members of the General Assamby, Superintendents of Provinces, Members of Provinciil Councils during Session, Clergymen, Priests, Minsters ot Religion, Catechisfs, and all peisans afflicted with lunacy or unsoundness of miad, deafness, blindness, or with any othtr disease or infirmity that may render them tsnfit for service (such disuse cr iufiimity being duly ceit.ifi.td by a medical man appointed by the Governor), shall be cxc npt fioin servir.g on such Militia. Tokomairiro is houndel on the north by an east and west lin? (true beariDg) from the Waitahuna Hill to the Waipori River ; on the east by Duneriin District, and on the Ocean on the south' by a direct line from Coal Point to the south"end of the K.ritangata Lake ; on tbe west by ths Kaitangata and Tuakitoto Lake?, thence by LovePs Creek and the Mount fc'tuait Ranges to Waitahuna Hill. CiraiiA is !:ounded on the uorth by the Dull burn; on the east by Tokomairiro District ; on the south, by the south boundary of the east and west Clutha Huudreds ; and on the west by the Waiwera, Clutha and Waitahuna rivers. Judicial and Law Notices NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Andrew Blair and William Couper ot Waikava. in the Province of Otago, and Colony of P«ew Zealand, sawyers, carrying on business there, under the style or firm of " Blair, Couper snd Co. v but at present residing in Dunedin, in the Province aforesaid, have by deed of assignment bearing date the 12th day of September, cne thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, and made between the said Andrew Blair and William Co :p?r of the first part, Edward Bo^es Cargill of Dunedin, aforesaid, merchant, and Donald Henderson of the same place, ironmonger, of the second part, and the?everal ether persons whose names and seols are thereunto subscribed aud set, and who are also respectively named in +-he first schedule, thereunder written, being severally creditors iv their own ri^ht or in copartnership or being agents or atfornies of creditors of the said Andrew Blair and W.lliam Couper of the third pait, conveyes aad es igoed, All and singular, the estate and effects, mli it soever and v.'here3oevfr, cf them the said Andrew Blair and William Couper, and also of the said William Couper, or of or to which ths said Andrewßlair and William Coup.-r or any other, person or persons in trust for them or him is possessed or entitled or have or hath any right or interest whatsoever unto the said Eciw-ird Bowes Cargill end Donald Henderson, in trust for all the Creditors of the srdd Andrew Blair and William Couper: And notice is hereby further giveu, that the said deed now lies for signature hy and on behalf of the creditors of the said Andrew Blair and William : Couper, at the offices of Messrs Prender z» t. i Kenyon and Maddock; in Manse street, Duneitin, - atoresaid, Solicitors.
