STOCK AND SHARE REPOBT. Banks. —Business Las been done in Bank of New Zealand shares at L46s . premium, and small parcels are still in demand, at prices from L 4 to the former quotation. The financial balfyear will dose on the" 39th instant; and an increased demand will probably be induced, in anticipation of the accruing dividend.—The' last i Auckland report quoted L 4 5s premium. Bank of Otap;o shares are ia demand at par : but no sellers under a sma!l advance. The accounts of this institution will also close on the 30 rh September, and are expected to show a satisfactory result. New Zealand Banking Corporation.—No further quotation. - ■■■; , Bank op Auckland.—Not yet in this market InsurAnok (Otago Fire, and Marine.)— Shares I have lately changed hands at 2i%; but the dispo- i sition of holders is to ask an advance even on my 1 quotation of 275; It is known that the Corapany have lately encountered some marine losses; but it is understood they are not of sufficient importance to aifect the value of the shares appreciably; and the discount at -which they aye offered may be attributed to the general demand for money.
