DUNEDIN PRODUCE REPORT.

(From the Witness.) September 9th, 1864. The stock of Provincial oats in the hands of the farmers is still heavy, but as there is none now coming in, and the heavy supplies on hand are fi'eatly reduced, there is some prospect of a maret at remunerative prices. Several lots have been placed at 3s lOd to 4s. The prospects for the ensuing season are all that could be desired. The oats and wheat sown during the winter are looking well, the land ploughed early is in excellent condition for working, and the farmers are getting their wheat and oats in rapidly, .sowing machines being in many cases employed. It might be mentioned that in no former season have so many corn and turnip sowing machines been purchased in Dunedin. There are some complaints that the clover does not take well in the oat crop, owing, no doubt, to the looseness of the soil. A great quantity of new land has been broken up this season, especially at Tokomairiro, a large proportion of which will be put under wheat. .
