Three Clergymen and four Laymen are to be elected as representatives for the Diccese of Chrisf.cbnrch, for the period of three years. Clergymen whose names ar<s upon the list of theckncal members of the Synori of Ohristuhurch, are entitled to vote for the clerical represent* tives of the Diocess; and every such clergyniaa is qualified to be e'ected as a c erical representative. Clergymen also not resident in the Diocese, may be elecrei if thdi* names shall have been cartined ?n a Hat kept by the Synod of the Diocese in whiclx they reside. Laymen of the age of 21 years and upwards, who shall lm e_signed the following declaration, VJZ. !-— "I, do hereby declare that I am a member of the United Churcli of Enaland and ireland ia New Zealand," are qualified to vote for the Lay Representatives of ttie district of the Diocese in which they reside; and every such Layman, being a communicant, may be eieefcedas a Lay Representative whether resident or not in the district for which he is elected. For the purpose of the election of three Clerical and four Lay Representatives, 1. The clerical electors of the D oce'e are requested to nominate three Clergymen, and to send in their names to the Hey. G. Cotteriii, Christ College, Canterbury, on or before the 30th of September next. 2. The Lay elestors ofths Province of Canterbury aie requested to nominate two Laymen, and to send in their naraes to the Rev. G. Cotlerill, on or before the 80th of September next. The Lay electors of the Provinces jf Otago and Southland, are requested to nominate two Laymen,'and to send ia their names to the Rev. IS. G. Edwards, Parsonage, Dunedin, on or before the 30 th of September next. If the persons nominated do not exceed the number to ha elected, they will be returned as the representatives of the Diocrse ; if they exceed the number, their names will bs published and the ekctors will be called upon to record their votes. .
