By the Hero we have two days' later advices from Melbourne. We take the following from / fche Argus: —
There were more country orders in town today than tor some time past, but otherwise the amount of business done was limited. The spring business, however, will soon commence, if' the fine weather experienced to-day continues. Kerosene was inquired for, at. prices ranging from 4s 9d to 5s 3d. Woolpacks were sold, to arrive, at 6s, and three-bushel bags at ■ 16s 3d. More money is asked for rice—the first resalt of yesterday's speculation. Aconsiderable number of trunks of boots and shoes changed hands privately at satisfactory prices. In flour and grain there was literally nothing doing, and prices, though unaltered, are merely nominal. The .auction sales were unimportant in character. Expert entries were passed to-day at the Cus-tom-house for 713 ounces of gold, for shipment per African to Hong Kong.
