(from our own correspondent.) The declaration of the poll for the Electoral District of Tokomairiro took plase a few minutes after four o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The .Returning Ofiicer declared the resr't to be:— W. J. Dyer 55 Thomas Murray... ... 36 Majoriiy.for Dyer ... ... 19 He therefore declared Mr Dyer duly elected as Member of the Provincial Council for the district of Tokomairiro. The announcement was most enthusiastically received, and boJh candidates briefly returned thanks for the support accorded to them.
