The usual conditions of lease may be seen at the office of the Town Board, and a deposit of six months' rent will be required in advance. TOWN AND COUNTRY POLICE ORDINANCE EXTENSION AND AMENDMENT ORDINANCE, 1863. WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed at the 17 th Session of the Provincial Council of Otago, viz. :—An ordinance to add further provision to the Town and Country Police Oroinance, 1862, and to amend the same, it is enacted that on and after the Cth day of October, 1863, the local'authority mentioned in the 6th clause of the said Town and Country Police Ordinance, 1862 shall be empowered to demand and receive a License fee not exceeding the sum of Ten Shillings on granting a License to any Carter and said fee shall in the case of the Town Board of Dutedin, or any other Town Board be received by the Clerk or other like officer of the Board, and be applicable to the purpose of the said Board in like manner as the ordinary municipal estate of such Board is applicable, and whereas, it is further enacted, tint in no case shall any forfeiture, penalty, or fine imposed in pursuance of this Ordinance exce> d for any one oifence, the sum of <L 100) one hundreJ pounds, and all such forfeitures, penalties and fines shall be recovered in a summary way by information laid before any Resident Magistrate, or two or more Justices of the Peace in the manner directed by the Summary Convictions Act, 1848. Notice is hereby given thit the above referred to Licsase Fee is payable to the Town Board of Dunedin, and the attention of all Carters is directed to the provisions of the Ordinance above referred to.
