WHEREAS Seats at the Town Board have become vacant by the resignation of— Messrs Jenkinson and Reid—High Ward. > essrs Henderson, Black and Fenwick—Bell Ward. Mr George Duncan—Leith Ward. An Election to supply their places will be held at the undermentioned places, on FRIDAY, the 12th Day of FEBRUARY, 1864 The said election will commence at t nine o'clock of the morning of the said 12th day of February, and shall continue until eleven o'clock of the mtfrning of the said day, after which no new candidate shall be voted for, and if at such last mentioned hoar the names of not more persons than the number to be elected shall be inscribed for the office, the election in such case shall be declared to be at an end, and no vote shall there after be received} but if names of more persons •than the number to be elected shall be so inscribed, then the said book shall remain open until lour o'clock of the said day, after which no vote shall be received (except those of such electors as may be within the polling place waiting to tender their votes.) and the election shall be at an end, provided always that it shall be in the power of the persons voted for 4by a writing under their hand to terminate the polling at any time of the day after eleven o'clock they may think proper. The following places are appointed as Polling Booths for the several Wards :— high Ward—office of the Town Board, Princes street. Bell Ward—Oddfellows Hall, George street. Leith Ward—Watson and Kerr's store, Great King street.
