There is little doubt that some "injury must be done to the harbor by the practice ot "some of the steamers throwing ashes overboard inside the Heads,' and it would be well that a check should be put upon it. There is ample room on the extensive area of mud surrounding Port Chalmers beach for all the ashes which the steamers can produce. The Wm.
