THE SECOND~ANNUAL SHOW Ofv ENTIRE HORSES Will take place at the PROVINCIAL SALE YARDS, On WEDNESDAY, the 7th OCTOBER, At 12 o'clock, ■ When Breeders will have the opportunity of seeing and selecting the animal best suited to their purpose for the season. Owmers of Entires are respectfully invited to send them forward to the show.' Every facility will be fforded for showing- them, and a Registry of the Horses, their Terms, and where they are to stand for the Season will be kept, and any inquiry respecting, them (except as to their comparative merits) will be attended to throughout the season. MILNER and LEARMONTH have opened a Registry for Entire Horses, Bropd Mares, and other choice breeding stock for sale this season; they will also h«ld an Auction Sale on the same day of the show at 1 o'clock. HorsesMILNER AND LEARMONTH have received instructions from Adam Borthwick, Esq:, We9t Clutha, to sell by auction, at their yards, on the above date, Thursday, Ist October, at 12 o'clock, X A HORSESConsisting of superior heavy and medium draught mares and geldings Some first-class light harness, and weight carrying cobs, equal to any importations we have had of late; and as they have been running on A. Borthwick, *Esq.'s station for upwards of nine months, they are in good heart and grand fettle, are all young, sound, and active, acclimatised &c. And the auctioneers would strongly advise intending purchasers to attend the sale, as they will be sold without reserve. WEDNESDAY, 7th OCTOBER. Provincial Sale YarcU. Second Annual Sale of Entira Horses and Other Choice Breeding Stock. MILNER AND LEARMONTH have received instructions from Messrs Irnrie and Blair, to sell by auction, on the 7th October (immediately after the show), The Imported Draught Entire Horse CHAMPION. Champion was imported by Thos. Simpson, Esq:, is a pure bred Clydesdale, stands over 16 \ hands high, possesses great strength of bone, fine action arid beautiful symmetry, and is a rich dapple bay color. Champion is rising seven years old, and proved himself the best getter of prize stock for 50 Miles round Glasgow. When a yearling he gained two first prizes, viz., at Glasgow and Johnston, as a two-year old he gained four first prizes, viz., Barrhead open show, Milston, Renfrewshire Agricultural Society and Johnstone, the last open to Scotland; two second prizes at Maryhill and Glasgow, where the Judges had great difficulty in deciding whether Ist or 2nd prize. When 3 years old he gained the first prize of 40 sovereigns at Renfrewshire Agricultural Society, where 31 horses of all ages competed j and also the first prize at Johnstone the same year. When i years old he gained the first prize of 50 sovereigns at the Kirbcumbright Agricultural Society, competing with 27 horses. • When 5 years old he gained the first premium of 40 Sovereigns, given noaf Lanavksn»le Farmers' Society; same year (1861) was awarded the first prize of 5 Sovereigns and Silver medal at Johnston, open to Scotland ;—the pnze.beingofferedforthe best five one-year-old colts or fillies got by any one Stallion that travelled the district in 1859: that being- the year he had the Renirewshire premium. Champion's yearlings carried the most of the prizes at the different shows held around Glasgow ; and also at the Highland Society in the year 1861. Champion, got by Ppnce Charlie, out of Tibby, the property ot_Mr_ Anderson, Drummore, Tibby won over 20 prizes in her time, and was never beaten but once by her own f'am. , Six day* after landing in Victoria, after a passage of 140 days, he took the first prize of 10 sovereigns at Bnllaaiat, and also the Champion Cup for beingthe best animal in the yard, and also the first prize at Smeaton the same year (1862). Further particulars as to pedigree, &c, can bo obtained by applying at the Auctioneers. Terms at sale, which are very liberal.
