We hear of an inferior mixed mob being fold for LlO per head; ni'ch cow's and working bollocks are eagerly ci quired for, ami high.prices are obtained. Horses.—The immense traffic between Christchurch and the wharves and Port, the numbrr of Government contracts on Land, and the daily substitution ofhorse'S'for bullocks for up country traffic, tends to krep up a demand for useful draught horse?, with which our weekly tales have been -moderately j well supplied. Fast-class draught msies are still enquired for. and afhijmient wouid meet a ready sale at high prices. Mr Barnard sold by auJtion at tho Repository, on Saturday last, 8 dr&unht mares and gel itigp, at pliers varying from L 45 to L7O, averaging 16'J per head ; 13 saddle and light harness horses realised from Ll9 to L 42, and averaged L 32 10s. 4 cows, near calving, were sold ior Llo, and Ll6 10i, —2 for LlB each; 5 yearlings, steers, and heifers at L 4, 2* (Jd ppr head ; 15 steers, 18 months.' old, realised L 8 5s per head.
