Sis- -I received this day a cheque for two guineas from Mr Barton, Solicitor, for Job Johnson, in payment for certain work I had performed in searching for the two men who travelled from the Lake withtha prisoner, anil who, he stated, could clear him. I beg to f .rward this amount, together with 10s of my own, as my subscription to the Johnson ttecoiapenes Fund. I am, &<?, James Cahill, Grocer, Maclaggan-street, Danedin. January 13th, 1863. ,
