FREQUENT instances having occurred of Do scrtion from Her Majesty's Sea and- Lan Forces in this Colony. Notice is hereby given, that the most, rigorous proceedings will be taken against any person enticing away, harboring, concealing, or employing Deserters. ' : 10 and 11 Viet., chap. 62, sea. 11: And be it enacted, That every person who, words or any other means whatsoever, shall persuade anyperson in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from Ms duty, shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty pounds for every such act; and every person who shall assist or procure and person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty; or shall conceal employ, or continue to employ any person belonging to Her Majesty's Navy, who shall be a deserter, or mproperly absent from his duty, knowing him to be such a desertor, or so improperly absent, shall forfeit and pay the sum of thirty pounds for every such, assistance, procurement, concealment, employment, or ontinuing of employment, as aioresaid.'
