COMMERCIAL.
DAII.F TIMES office,
Saturday Evening.
The week closed with great disappointment at the non-arrival of the English mail. There has been little falling off in the amount of business transacted. The weather has been unfavorable, and in adverting.to the change, we have now to report the appearance of snow on the Lammermoor Ranges, and the consequent detention of drays. We offered some remarks on this subject iv a former issue, and we now express our opinion on good authority, that very shortly the traffic to the Dunstan will go via Waikouaiti. With a large population on the Dunstan <?old fields, it behoves Government to anticipate the difficulties yet to he encountered, in keeping open the communication between Waikouaiti and the Dunstan, co that goods may be forwarded at any period of the winter. Severnl large buyers are in town laying in tlieir winter stocks

Bacos maintains our last high quotations, notwithstanding recent arrivals— r-incluir's, Coey's, and other good brands, ls 61.
