The schooner Albatross, which arrived to-day, left Auckland on the Ist instant, experiencing very unfavourable weather throughout the passage. " Brings a general cargo, including timber, cheese, and potatoes on the captain's account. From Capf Clarke we have loca' papers up to the 28th ult. The ship Vellore sailed from Melbourne with I;4U, aheep, which have arrived with a comparatively small loss Captain Didier reports having had light S.E. ■winds, with the exception of one strong squall from theN-E. Left the Heads on the Ist, and on the fourth day out spoke the barque Pet, bound for - "She Titania and Geelong both sailed to-day—as •usual, crowded with cargo and passengers. The passenger fares between Dunedin and Port Chalmers have now been generally reduced to eighteen pence each way.
