TUAPEKA.
In his report for the week ending2Bth February, Major Croker Estimates the population at 1,650, being an increase of, 800 on the previous week. He remarks—" The population increased during the pa«t week, newcomers going to work chiefly along the Tuapeka River, there probably in consequence of the better supply of water in the locality. •
