Inkerman is a rich dark chesnut by Emperor, imported—dam, Suffolk punch mare, Lady Airley, imported. He was bred by Mr Stockwell, of Hollytree, Tasmania, and sold when a two-year-old to Mr Hipper, of Victoria, for £400. He is of the most symmetrical proportions, and has always proved himself a sure foal getter. His produce at the late September Show took the first prize at Gisborne. In addition to being a good stud liorse he is perfectly docile and staunch for plough or dray work.
