Superintendent's Office, I Auckland, 26th Janinry, 1863. _ I Masters of vessels and others navisratinff the Hokian"u River are hereby informed that, on and after the Ist iay of March proximo, the following wih be the Code of Signals for taking Hokianga bar and entering the river :— , ! White—First Quarter Flood. . —When these flags ore understood, they should be answered from the ship by a pendautor flag-where j best seen. The pilot will be at the entrance ot tne Heads in his boat, but seldom outside the Bar. 2. If a vessel is too far to tbe North for entering, a White Square will be hoisted on thel south yard-arm ; and if too far to the South, it will be hoisted on the north yard-arm.
