FREQUENT instances having occurred of De sertion from Her Majesty's Sea and Lan Forcosi in this Colony, Noi-.ce is hereby given, that the most rigorous proceedinss will be taken against any person enticing away, harboring, concealing, or employing Deserters. CLAUSES OF IMPERIAL ACTS RELATING Naval Desertion. •10 and 11 Viet., chap. 62, sec. 11. lAnd be it enacted, That every person who, ■words or any other means whatsoever, shall persuade any person in Her Majesty's Navy to desert, or improperly absent himself from his duty, shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty pounds for every such act; and every person who shall assist or procure an person in Her Majesty's Na,vy to desert, or impro perlv abeent himself from his duty; or shall conceal «mp'loy, or continue, to employ any person belonging to Her Majesty's Navy, who shall be a deserter, or improperly absent frbui his duty, knowing him to be such a desertor, or so improperly absent, shall forfeit *nd pay the sum of thirty pounds for every such assistance, procurement, concealment, employment, or continuing of employment, as aforesaid."
